Reversible fuel cell - By nature, all fuel cells - which are devices meant to convert chemical energy into electrical energy - can also be operated backwards. That is, instead of consuming chemicals to produce electricity and reaction byproducts, a fuel cell operated backwards can be used to consume those reaction byproducts plus electricity to regenerate the original fuel.
